Yay, I can still pass exams!

I can haz OU degree :- Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computing and Mathematical Sciences, Upper Second-class Honours (2.1)

Go me!

In general, I found the Maths interesting and challenging and the Computing over concerned with a)tedious buzzword bollocks and b)exam questions requiring hand-writing code. But they've gone and changed all the modules, so maybe that's not really relevant to anyone else; and maybe I'm biased because I was much better at the maths.

Now I do not have things to learn, haz sad.

Hurray and go you! It's a good day for results, I think.

PS Learn to call. Cambridge needs more callers, and you'd be good at it. Get on the rota for the Reel club next term?

Yay! I finished that one last year. I too found the Maths better than the Computing, and found the Computing somewhat bollocks. For the reasons you mentioned, plus their tendency to handwave over quite important details that actually gave misleading impressions.

Yeah, SO ANNOYING. Also I got D/2/2 in my L3 maths and 3/4 in my L3 computing; not that I'm BITTER OR ANYTHING. ;-p not really, it's not as if anything was hanging on this result. And getting 48% in the last exam because I was too lazy to revise was probably mostly my fault (we can cf this with my final exam @cam on which I got about 10%... mostly because I had a stupid).

I also got better marks in Maths than Computing. I did the computing project, which was mostly a colossal waste of time, despite my efforts to bend it to my will (muahahahaha). But seriously unimpressed with Computing, really.

Ah, yes, make that 3/4/4 I forgot that I started the whole endevour by doing "natural and artificial intelligence" (a waste of space mostly involving writing bollocks) so the project wasn't even on my radar. Sorry to hear it sucked :(

*HAPPYDANCE*

I am led to believe that there is _always_ more to learn in both mathematics and computing science :->

Yes, yes there is.

I'm bad at undirected learning though; I need PROJECTS with DEFINED GOALS to make myself do things.

And once again I am confronted with the uncomfortable truth that computer science isn't being taught very well.

Yeah, it's very annoying. I'm sure it could be taught much better.

Congratulations! Sad to hear computer science course not great, but tempted to do OU maths courses at some point. In the distant future...
