Died on this day in 1594 aged 53 Elisabeth of Simmern-Sponheim (my toy,wikipedia). Wife of John, son of Sibylle, sister of Anne of Cleves, wife of Henry VIII. John was captured by the Holy Roman Emperor, and Elisabeth spent many years petitioning to have him freed, she later moved into captivity with him.

Born on this day in 1263 to King Afonso III of Portugal, Afonso of Portugal (my toy,wikipedia). Husband of Violante, daughter of Manuel, half brother of Eleanor, wife of Edward I.
