(no subject)

I've been reading GRRM's Unfinished Magnum Opus... I'm not done yet (NO SPOILERS!)... and I have an earworm of the FIRST LINE of "A bear and a maiden fair". Can someone who has read everything yet written in the series tell me if there are MORE LINES provided? This is really IRRITATING!

I'd almost rather an earworm of the Rains of Castelmere (I think we got whole verses!). Even though it is (probably) much less rude (so less interesting to my stupid ear-worm-catching brain).

I think.. in interviews, grrm said there is no full version of the bear and the maiden (if there were more lines, I am thinking possibly I remember something from one of the dunk n egg novellas? not sure tho), but there is a full version of the rains of castamere for the tv series.

Ooh or maybe I'm wrong.. I just found this
http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/The_Bear_and_the_Maiden_Fair

I had only thought there were fan versions of the songs so far.. but its telling me that the fool sang it in book 2. Maybe its been so damn long ago that I didn't remember?

Hmmm, I don't *remember* reading that in book 2. But, well, I guess I'm daft.

no wait, it says storm of swords, book 3 then. But I think its supposed to be interspersed in the background of sansa and some other people talking about marriages. So.. it wasn't printed as a full thing in one blob. even so, I'm not sure I remember So many verses appearing! :S

A bear there was, a bear, a bear! All black and brown and covered with hair!

..the maid with honey in her hair... he licked the honey from her hair...

..she laughed and smiled and kicked the air...

It's that sort of song.
