Born on this day in 1620 to Elizabeth of the Palatinate, Frederick , Elector of Brandenburg (my toy,wikipedia). Grandfather of Frederick, husband of Sophia, daughter of George I. After the end of the Thirty Years War Frederick was left in charge of war-ravaged Brandenburg-Prussia, he did rather well at getting it back on its feet (and his son made Prussia a Kingdom).
