Books read recently:
The Forest House by MZB (later printings call it "Forests of Avalon"); one of the prequels to "Mists of Avalon". Part of my "re-read ALL THE BOOKS" project (it's not going so well). I used to really love (most of) this series; but I don't think it stands up so well to re-reading now I'm older and more atheist and less enthralled by the fact that it has OMG WOMEN CHARACTERS in it than when I was younger. To say that "Mists of Avalon" was a favourite of mine as a teen might be to rather understate the case; I'm not sure I'm looking forward to re-reading it tbh as I very much doubt it still has the appeal it used to have.
Nethergate by Norah Lofts. I picked this one up in the gym's charity book sale; kinda OK historical-fiction. Not that interesting. Going right back to the charity book sale...
