I do agree with all this, I think we gain an awful lot from being in the EU. I love being theoretically able to travel the entire continent and not have to faff around with visas, even though I rarely leave the UK.
One of my Dutch LJ friends was saying about how it's not the national party that's key necessarily, the important bit is what faction that party's aligned itself with. Could well be the early signs of pan-EU parties, that's if national parties don't object too hard anyway.
