Apr. 3rd, 2015 09:32 pmDied on this day in 1538 aged 58 Lady Elizabeth Howard (my toy, wikipedia). Married Thomas Boleyn and was mother to Anne, wife of Henry VIII. She was lady-in-waiting to both Elizabeth of york and Catherine of Aragon. There is no truth to the rumour, circulated at the time of Anne's imprisonment that she had been Henry's mistress.
Born on this day in 1311 to Humphrey de Bohun and Elizabeth of Rhuddlan, Margaret de Bohun (my toy, wikipedia). Granddaughter of Edward I. She had 13 children with her husband Hugh de Courtenay, that's a whole lot of children (probably helped to get started early, having been engaged at 4 she was married at 14, a practice largely confined to the very rich incidentally - most people could not afford to marry anything like that young). she was an educated woman and a scholar, unusual in the 14th century.
People might be amused by http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/ucgi/~naath/countNames.py which is a list of names people had (I tried to keep it to personal names) and the ealiest and latest dates people with those names were born.
