Died on this day in 1899 aged 24 Prince Alfred of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (my toy,wikipedia). Grandson of Queen Victoria. The Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha went to Victoria and Albert's second son, since their eldest was the heir to the English crown. Alfred's cause of death is not publicly known, he may have been ill with consumption or cancer, or he may have shot himself
