Nov. 13th, 2015 03:26 pmDied on this day in 1726 aged 60 Sophia of Celle (my toy,wikipedia). Wife of George I. Sophia was the illegitimate daughter of the Duke of Brunswick. George was her first cousin. The marriage was arranged, and she dislike the idea from the start, it was never a happy marriage and eventually ended in divorce after which Sophia was imprisoned by George.
Born on this day in 1312 to King Edward II of England and Isabella of France, King Edward III of England (my toy,wikipedia). Edward was crowned at the age of only 14 after his mother and her lover (Mortimer) deposed his father. In 1337 he declared himself the rightful King of France, the French disagreed owing to a)Salic law and b)them having a King already thanks; this kicked of the 100 years war. He famously had 7 sons, whilst having 1 son is great because now you have an heir Edward had too many sons which lead to them (and their descendants) fighting each other about who would get to be King.
