Died on this day in 1737 aged 54 Caroline of Ansbach (my toy,wikipedia). Wife of George II.She was educated at the court of Prussia where she had the opportunity to meet many noted scholars including Leibnitz. She served as regent in England whilst George was in Hanover on a number of occasions.

Born on this day in 1629 to George Hanover , Duke of Brunswick-Luneburg and Anne of Hess Darmstadt, Ernest Hanover , Elector of Brunswick-Luneburg (my toy,wikipedia). Father of George I. Ernest instituted primogeniture in Hanover, previous to that the territory had been divided between all the sons of a deceased ruler (which is why there are SO MANY German princes...)
