Feb. 19th, 2016 03:55 pmDied on this day in 1682 aged 65 Frederick of Hesse-Darmstadt (my toy,wikipedia). Brother of Anne, grandmother of Sophia Dorothea, wife of George I. Frederick was born a Lutheran but converted to Catholicism. As a young man he was a soldier, ending up as an Admiral in the Spanish navy... he later became a priest and then a cardinal.
Born on this day in 1399 to Bernard ? VII, Count of Armagnac and Bonne of Berry, Bonne of Armagnac (my toy,wikipedia). Wife of Charles, husband (not at the same time) of Isabella, wife (not at the same time) of Richard II. Bonne married aged only 11, 5 years later Charles was taken prisoner at Agincourt, and she never saw him again. As all this (not at the same time) suggests, blended families are not a new thing, and people have always remarried after bereavement or divorce.
