Born on this day in 1473 to King James III of Scotland and Margaret of Denmark, King James IV of Scotland (my toy,wikipedia). Grandfather of Mary Queen of Scots (great-grandfather of James I&VI). Died when defeated at Flodden, the last British monarch to die in battle.

Yay! Harold Harefoot - the king that no-one seems to have been taught about in school: mostly, you get blank looks when mentioning his name.

Indeed. I had forgotten entirely about him. We were taught little about English history before 1066 in school, except for the Romans - big gap!
