My instinctive reaction is that the whole idea of gender-specific rules is stupid. But since many people _would_ feel uncomfortable breaking the traditional man->woman role, even if they don't think it _should_ matter, maybe having a way to "authorize" it does more good than harm, and we should have as many more such days as possible? :)
