Jul. 13th, 2015 05:29 pmDied on this day in 1966 aged 82 Princess Beatrice of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (my toy, wikipedia). Grand-daughter of Queen Victoria. Beatrice married into the Spanish royal family, and then lost practically everything during the Spanish civil war (including one of her three children).
Born on this day in 1426 to Richard de Beauchamp and Isabel le Despenser, Anne Beauchamp , 16th Countess of Warwick (my toy, wikipedia). Mother of Anne Neville, wife of Richard II; Anne's husband was the Warwick the Kingmaker. The Earldom of Warwick was hers by right, but her husband was in charge on account of married women not being able to own things; after his death her two sons-in-law (Clarance and Gloucester) argued about how the Warwick's stuff should be divided, including stuff that was by rights Anne's stuff which is all a bit shit really. She outlived both her daughters, and all of her sons-in-law (Anne married twice), and all the land ended up with Henry VII.
