Oct. 22nd, 2015 03:29 pmDied on this day in 1667 aged 47 Albert Hohenzollern II, Margrave of Ansbach (my toy,wikipedia). Grandfather of Caroline who married George II. Handled the post-30-years-war reconstruction in Brandenburg-Ansbach with success.
Born on this day in 1071 to William Poitiers VIII, Duke of Aquitaine and Hildegarde of Burgundy, William Poitiers IX, Duke of Aquitaine (my toy,wikipedia). Grandfather of Eleanor who married Henry II. William avoided going on the first crusade, preferring instead to take Toulouse off his wife's uncle who was busy crusading. Later he did go crusading, but was not very good at it. He is famous mostly as a poet.
