Died on this day in 1151 aged 76 Aimery I de Rouchefoucould (my toy, wikipedia). Grandfather of Eleanor who married Henry II. Aimery's wife was know as Dangereuse (nice name). After some years of marriage she was "abducted" (but probably actually went willingly) by the Duke of Aquitaine. Aimery didn't protest (probably in fear of Ducal retribution) but the Duke's wife did an the Duke and Dangereuse were excommunicated, but he used his power and influence (and money) to reconcile with the Pope. Aimery and Dangereuse's daughter Aenor married the son and heir of the Duke of Aquitaine, which was a fantastic political success, but not actually very nice on account that he hated her mother for the treatment of his mother...

Born on this day in 1745 to Frederick Prince of Wales and Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha, Prince Henry (my toy, wikipedia). Grandson of George II and brother of George III. Henry married a commoner (Anne Horton) without the King's permission, which caused the King to make a new law saying that no-one else in the royal family was to be allowed to do so.
