Also his wife was the sister of George III. He formed a close alliance with Prussia and was a Prussian Field Marshal during the 7 years war.
Born on this day in 1490 to John La Marck II, Duke of Cleves and Matilda of Hesse, John La Marck III, Duke of Cleves (my toy,wikipedia). Father of Anne (wife of Henry VIII).
