I get so much comment spam on DW and so few actual comments than I've turned off commenting for non-DW users. Sorry if you wanted to comment and now can't but UGH SPAM.
I screen comments by people who aren't users — that seems to keep most spammers at bay, while only causing a small delay to anyone who wants to comment without an account legitimately.
I wasn't screening, no; I didn't think that would stop spammers even if it stopped people seeing the spam - and I'd still feel compelled to go and delete it all.
