Oops.

Died yesterday in 902Ealhswith (my toy,wikipedia). daughter-in-law of Edward III; great great grand daughter of Edward I. Married 4 times and had no children.

Born yesterday in 1577 to King Frederick II of Denmark and Norway and Sophie of Mecklenburg-Gustrow, King Christian IV of Denmark (my toy,wikipedia). Nephew of Anne who married James I and VI. Had 2 wives, a lot of children, and a war with Sweden.

Hmm, something seems to have gone wrong here, as Ealhswith died on 5th December (as I find out from having read her wikipedia entry, so thanks for that link regardless!) Also obvs the rest of your text can't refer to her, so I think you must have put the wrong person in and whoever it is you really meant is the one the text refers to?

I have been meaning for a while to say thank you for all these little snippets. I haven't followed every link, but I am trying to get my head round some of these people a bit more than I had previously managed, and it is being very interesting.

Er, yes, that's very daft of me. Ah. Lady Joan Holland (my toy (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/ucgi/~naath/person.py?ID=611),wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joan_Holland)). She's 611 whilst Ealhswith is 61... should do these in less of a hurry.


I was sort of hoping I could have a nice neat family tree that made everything clear... but it turns out that there are way too many people for it to make sense at all. But having the whole set means I can generate little graphs to make some points clearer sometimes.

Oh, and it's full of amusing facts like "married his niece" and "married second wife on anniversary of first wedding, presumably short on memory-for-dates" type things :)
