naathDied on this day in 1837 aged 73 Luise of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (my toy,wikipedia). Mother of Adelaide, who married William IV. Luise ruled Saxe-Meiningen as regent while her son (the next Duke) was a child.
Born on this day in 1662 to King James VII of Scotland & II of England and Anne Hyde, Queen Mary II of England (my toy,wikipedia). Mary was the daughter of James VII &II, her husband William II &III was the son of James' sister (also Mary); James was overthrown for being too Catholic and William & Mary became joint monarchs after the "Glorious Revolution", when Mary died William became King, when he died Mary's sister Anne became Queen (William and Mary had no children) when Anne was settled on as William's heir she had no living children and the succession looked in doubt the Act of Settlement 1701 was passed to make Sophia of Hanover next-in-line after Anne, and ruling that no Catholic should be allowed to be King.
