Died on this day in 1042 aged 24 King Harthacnut (my toy,wikipedia). Son of Cnut; after Cnut died Harold Harefoot took the throne, Harthacnut fought to get it back, but made Edward the Confessor in successor. I'm not sure I follow all this clearly.

Born on this day in 1236 to Violant of Hungary, Violant of Aragon (my toy,wikipedia). Wife of Alfonso X of Castile, half brother of Eleanor who married Edward I. Daughter of the King of Aragon Violant became Queen Consort of Castile.
