Sep. 4th, 2015 04:17 pmDied on this day in 1199 aged 33 Joan of England (my toy,wikipedia). Daughter of Henry II. Married the King of Sicily at the age of only 12. After her husband died she was kept prisoner by the new King until her brother Richard freed her on his way to go a-Crusading.
Born on this day in 1557 to Ulrich Mecklenburg , Duke of Mecklenburg and Elizabeth of Denmark, Sophie of Mecklenburg-Gustrow (my toy,wikipedia). Mother of Anne, who married James VI and I. Sophie married her first cousin the King of Denmark. She had no political power as Queen-consort and was not on the regency council for her son after the death of her husband; she did arrange the marriages of her daughters.
