Sep. 18th, 2015 03:17 pmDied on this day in 1180 aged 60 King Louis VII of France (my toy,wikipedia). First husband of Eleanor of Aquitaine who married Henry II after her marriage to Louis was annulled; also father of Margaret of France who married Henry the Young King, the son of Henry II. The annulment of his marriage to Eleanor was on the grounds of being too closely related (his second cousin twice removed) but really was because they didn't get on and had no sons and he wanted a new wife to have sons with, she went on to marry Henry II and Louis Did Not Like That which led to war.
Born on this day in 1620 to Joachim , Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach and Sophie of Solms-Laubach, Albert Hohenzollern II, Margrave of Ansbach (my toy,wikipedia). Grand-father of Caroline of Ansbach who married George II. He offered refuge to religious refugees from Austria and in 1647 or 1662 granted them lands in Treuchtlingen and Berolzheim (nice of him) and deployed his diplomatic skills to deal with the 30 years war.
