Dec. 18th, 2015 04:30 pmDied on this day in 1075 aged 50 Edith of Wessex (my toy,wikipedia). Wife of Edward the Confessor, Sister of Harold Godwinson. Edith was educated at Wilton Abbey and could speak several languages, she was also a very wealthy woman (the richest in England at the time).
Born on this day in 1941 to Henry Saxe-Coburg and Gotha , Duke of Gloucester and Alice Scott, Prince William of Gloucester (my toy,wikipedia). Grandson of George V. Henry read history at Magdalene, Cambridge, before joining the FCO. He was diagnosed with porphyria at a young age, but never suffered severely from it since he died in a plane crash aged only 30.
