Died on this day in 1398 aged 72 Rupert II, Elector Palatine (my toy,wikipedia). Grandfather of Louis who married Blanche, daughter of Henry IV; also an ancestor of Mary Queen of Scots and thus of James VI & I and subsequent English monarchs. Threw Jews and Prostitutes out of the Palatinate, confiscating all their stuff, which he bequeathed to the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg (how generous...) which is still a university.

Born on this day in 1900 to King Ferdinand of Romania and Princess Marie of Edinburgh, Maria of Romania (my toy,wikipedia). Great-grand-daughter of Queen Victoria. Married the King of Yugoslavia, but got chucked out (and had all her stuff confiscated) by the Communists; she moved to England where she lived a very normal life (for royalty) even driving her own car.

WoIaF: finished the bit about all the places in Westeros, now onto not!Westeros. This book has very pretty pictures

WoTC: not read much (still on A), this book has a lack of pretty pictures and a lot of very dull entries, but the entries for the more major characters are very interesting. Big Book Of Spoilers, so really.... don't start here.
